Lemon Water

food-lemon-largeIf you are online at all, you’ve probably seen the articles glorifying the practice of drinking lemon water. Lemons are definitely a powerhouse fruit. They are packed with vitamins and nutrients including vitamin c, b, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and fiber.

Drinking a cup of lukewarm lemon water in the first thing in the morning on an empty stomach:

  • aids in digestion
  • enhances the immune system
  • aids in weight-loss
  • helps prevent constipation
  • helps flush out kidney stones
  • helps maintain healthy blemish-free skin

Simply squeeze half a lemon into a glass with lukewarm water and drink. I like to add a pinch of cayenne to help warm up the body and stimulate the metabolism. Because lemons are very acidic they can erode the enamel on your teeth. Make sure to drink another glass of water afterwards or drink through a glass or stainless steel straw.
