Go to Green Smoothie

Green SmoothieThis is my favorite smoothie. It’s flavorful, not pulpy or stringy and is packed full of vitamins and nutrients. Plus it’s delicious!

Go To Green Smoothie

  • 1 can of light coconut milk
  • 1 can of water
  • 1 banana
  • Handful of frozen mango
  • 1 orange, peeled and divided
  • 1-2 cups of kale (remove inner stem)
  • 2-3 inch section of peeled and chopped turmeric root
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper

Add above ingredients to your blender and mix until blended and smooth.  You can add some ice to make it colder if you like. Refrigerate extras and enjoy the next day.

I like to buy a large piece of turmeric and freeze it. Take out of the freezer and chop frozen for your smoothie. This seems to help a little with the “bleeding” and helps prevent yellow fingers.

Health Benefits:

Turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, is linked to improved brain function, lowers your risk of heart disease, may be helpful in preventing and treating Alzheimer’s, helps with arthritis, and helps diminish depression.

Kale is one of the best vegetables for your health. It is packed with vitamins, low in calories, loaded with fiber and has zero fat. Kale has more iron than beef, is an anti-inflammatory and filled with antioxidants.

Enjoy!
